A motivated Health and Safety Officer is required for our exclusive manufacturing Industrial client based in the Sutton Coldfield region near Birmingham.

The ideal candidate will have Health and Safety & ideally Environmental (HSE) experience with some good ISO knowledge within the industrial / manufacturing / automotive engineering industry. Nebosh qualifications is essential, environmental qualifications/IOSH memberships is ideal.

Our client advises candidates must have the following;

• ·Needs to be within easy commutable distance of the site
• ·Must have industrial working experience
• ·Must be existing H&S officer used to implementing tasks, not consultancy where they advise on what to do but not necessarily implement
• ·Must hold the NEBOSH general certificate
• ·Must be familiar with Power Point, word and Excel programmes
• ·Must have good experience of risk assessment writing to cover all needs and implementing e.g. general H&S assessments, COSHH, manual handling etc
• ·Must have reasonable knowledge of H&S Law
• ·Must have a flexible working style
• ·Must be able to work in a support role whilst able to lead when the advisor is on holiday etc
• ·Must be prepared to develop skills
  • ·Must be able to communicate at operational organizational level

Role profile ideally will have

• ·Ideally hold a training certificate and be used to delivering accredited courses
• ·Ideally will have Environmental Knowledge
• ·Ideally will have Chemical knowledge and control
• ·Ideally will have experience of working dynamically to address live situations
• ·Ideally will be a member of IOSH at Tech Level working towards Grad through CDP

This role will support the HSE Advisor in developing safety, health and environmental systems. You will have good risk assessment knowledge, COSHH control experience and be able to conduct Audits, inspections and investigations. Environmental knowledge and training skills would be an advantage.
