A motivated Health and Safety Management professional is required for our specialist global leading manufacturing client based in Cumbria.

Responsibilities include implementing, maintaining and monitoring health and safety action plans and systems, carrying out risk assessments and audits, training and liaising with all levels on the importance of health and safety.

The ideal candidate will have relevant Health and Safety experience ideally within the manufacturing industry. You will ideally be educated to a degree level in either a Health & Safety or a manufacturing/chemical/engineering discipline. High level Nebosh qualifications will also be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Senior Management team in developing and improving the Health & Safety culture across the entire organisation. You will be working from the client’s main site in Wigton, Cumbria which employs 850 people.  As part of the management team you will be working within a group of highly qualified Professionals. Whilst the role is autonomous you will need to develop key working relationships to enable you to integrate into the Management Team.

Therefore you will need to have the following skills and experiences:

• A strong background in manufacturing covering hazardous chemical and complex production machines

• Experience in implementing safety management systems

• A proven track record of managing cultural change with a large workforce

• A very “hands-on” approach to safety

• Experience in developing & presenting training modules

• Experience of COMAH operations would be desirable
