A motivated Engineering Manager / Quality Engineering Manager is required for our client based in Merstham, Surrey. The Quality and Engineering Manager is a member of the Management Team and is primarily responsible for the Quality Management System (QMS), including its compliance to ISO 9001:2008 and its ongoing development. The Quality and Engineering Manager will also be responsible for the development and running of the Engineering Services.
The ideal candidate will have relevant Engineering Management and Quality Management experience within the engineering and manufacturing industry and relevant industry qualifications. Experience and knowledge of Quality Management systems and continuous improvement, lean processes and systems, Kaizen techniques is essential. Ideally you will have;
Previous responsibility for a Company Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2008; or at least previous experience working at a senior level in a quality related role
• Management experience within an engineering company.
• Direct people management experience of either technicians or production employees.
• Good organisational skills and computer literate.
• Experience of real continuous improvement, lean processes and systems and possibly Kaizen techniques would be an advantage.
• This position would suit a dynamic leader with energy and enthusiasm to match the existing Management Team of this growing successful Company.
Reporting into the Managing Director, responsibilities include;
All aspects of the QMS to ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2008 Through the use of Kaizen techniques, continually improve the operational performance within your area of responsibility.
Work with the Management Team to ensure the QMS is developed alongside our continuous improvement and Kaizen activities.
Be responsible for the Quality Module within the Companywide computer system
Take a lead role in the handling of customer complaints.
Be responsible for the goods returned process.
Be prepared to assist with the QMS of UK based ‘sister’ companies.
Be responsible for the Health and Safety Policy and ensure that the Company is meeting current Health and Safety legislation.
Chair the Health and Safety Committee. Ensure risk assessments are undertaken and the Committee meet at least twice a year.
Work with the existing experienced Managers of both the Engineering Services and Departments to ensure they meet global standards and the requirements of our internal and external customers.
Ensure procedures and work instructions meet the standards agreed with the relevant Centre of Excellence
