Engineering Project Manager

A motivated Project Manager / Engineering Project Manager/ Product Development professional is required for our specialist manufacturing client based in Andover, Hampshire. This role would suit a passionate project manager / new product manager who can take new projects to market - and beyond!

The purpose of the role is to oversee the final stages of development and design of a new product and ensure that it meets all regulatory requirements. Once completed, all the processes and procedures for deploying the new unit as a service (including the production, on-site activities and documentation) must be developed for deployment both within the UK and overseas. In time this role is expected to extend to cover the set-up of overseas systems and procedures to ensure that a globally consistent service is implemented.

The ideal candidate will have relevant Project management and new product development experience within the engineering or manufacturing industries and ideally be Engineering degree qualified or similar. However appropriate aptitude and relevant experience are equally important. Experience of project management of specialist or new products within the pharmaceutical, scientific, life sciences or healthcare industry would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a product which can be easily manufactured and deployed on a customer site whilst ensuring that all legislative requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all processes and system are documented (and where appropriate automated) and consistent with a service-focused operation. This includes setting up standard practices for:
  1. Formal site surveys;
  2. Specification of projects;
  3. Supplying, labelling and transportation of the product; and
  4. Installations and inspection.
  • Liaison with overseas partners / suppliers to ensure a smooth in-country service provision
  • Installation of data monitoring systems and techniques to ensure that the service is operated efficiently and in accordance with the specifications.

Personal Attributes/Experience:

  • Demonstrable Project Management experience
  • A positive, flexible and results-orientated approach
  • Understanding / experience of budgetary control
  • High level of PC literacy including MS office and projects
  • Ability to understand, interpret and manipulate technical drawings / documentation
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and in particular the ability to interact well with overseas distributors and customers
  • Confidence and ability to present technical solutions to customers
  • A robust personality, able to handle pressurised situations
  • A “can do” approach with the ability to solve complex international problems in real-time
  • The ability to work autonomously & demonstrate good decision-making qualities
  • Good attention to detail – must produce work to a consistently high standard
  • Foreign language skills are a distinct advantage
