Advanced Selection Ltd have been appointed by our exclusive specialist manufacturing client based in Hampshire to find a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to act as a Controls / Electrical Design engineer for designated projects.

The main purpose of the role is producing detail electrical and controls panel designs of the company's machines which comply with the relevant International and company standards to enable them to achieve their design specification. Also, providing electrical/controls design support to other company departments.

This role is more focused on the Electrical Control Panel Designs for Projects.

The ideal candidate will have;

• Electrical Design Engineering experience
• Autocad / Electrical CAD, Electrical Design Package experience
• Working knowledge of P&ID drawings & electrical wiring drawings
• Experience in specifying electrical and electronic components.
• Ideally be HNC Electrical / Electronic Engineering qualified or similar
• Relevant experience in a control systems design electrical/factory control or machine design , capital equipment , processing equipment environment is highly desirable but not essential.

What is essential is a good understanding of P&ID’S, electrical Wiring drawings & ideally working knowledge of machine wiring & P&ID production using AutoCAD.

Desirable:

Machine safety standards ((Machinery safety standards EN 60204-1, EN 13849-1, EN62061)

Electrical CAD package (eg ELCAD)

Working Knowledge of PLC configuration eg Siemens/Allen Bradley

This role would suit someone with an electrical design background with knowledge of the wider PLC control systems but this is not essential.

Ideally you will have experience of;

Responsibilities of the role;

• Produce electrical control panel designs for specified projects to ensure delivery to specification using electrical CAD packages.
• Production and maintenance of machine wireways (Cable routing) drawings.
• Production of Bill’s of materials covering the electrical/electronic equipment fitted to machines.
• Advise on the suitability of instrumentation and other electrical/electronic items fitted to capital equipment.
• Maintain P&ID’s using AutoCAD for machines on a project basis.
• Assist in the development of control systems design and conformity to international standards.
• Provide test and inspection of electrical/controls aspects of machines in manufacture to ensure compliance to standards and drawings.
